Type designer and painter calligrapher Christophe Badani is a typographer by training.
He was born in 1969 in Marseilles, where he studied typography.

In 1992, he moved to Paris and worked as a graphic designer in advertising at BBDO.
In 1996, Christophe decided to dedicate his work to the drawing of the letter.

He learned Latin calligraphy and perfected himself in the art of sign and calligraphic gestures.

In 1998, his first typefaces were published by the german distributor Linotype Library.
He designed typefaces for large companies such as Lacoste, Peugeot, Roland Garros, Lancôme, Veuve Clicquot, DS Automobiles, etc. Which will earn him a certain notoriety.

In addition to his work as a designer, Christophe Badani also devoted himself to calligraphic painting, which he claimed was the logical continuation of the drawing of the typographic letter, in a more intimate, free and abstract plastic expression, but always with the same rigor and the same requirement.

He teaches at the Académie Charpentier (Atelier de la Grande Chaumière, Paris)
calligraphy and typography, he is also author and co-author of several works on typography and abstract calligraphy.
